Respite
Respite can be either 1:1 with one of our staff members, or group respite. We also have options for respite to include family members or a loved one in certain circumstances.

Some people view respite as a "holiday".
However it is far from this. This is an opportunity for the participant and informal supports to have a break from each other for a short while to recharge them batteries and avoid burnout!
Sometimes respite can be run for multiple participants at the same time to meet social goals at the same time as giving informal supports a break.
For major respites (i.e interstate/week long ones) we will post updates on our social media and you just need to enquire via email. For shorter respite or weekend trips, we may get in touch sporadically and offer a trip away, or you are more than welcome to request a respite option and we can organise one specifically tailored for you.
Short answer, yes. There are definitely limitations when it comes to respite. Your funding does not cover a "holiday", however you may be funded for a support worker to support you whilst on holiday if it is something that you need. Your funding may also cover all expenses for you to give your informal a respite "break" for a short time.
If you are unsure then it is recommended to contact your support coordinator or plan manager to find out. Otherwise get in touch and we may be able to assist your search.
